Moon.com is not MoonPay

Two different companies. Unrelated. Search treats them as near-synonyms and the promo-code circuit does the same. If you came here looking for a way to buy crypto with a card, you want the other one.

The short answer

Moon.com is a wagering platform where you bet Up or Down on referenced asset prices with leverage. Its own terms call the products gaming products and state that Moon.com is the counterparty to every bet you place.

MoonPay is a crypto payments company. It buys and sells cryptocurrency with regular payment methods, including cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and it sells that plumbing to other businesses. Different company, different job, different regulator.

They are not the same company, they are not affiliated, and nothing we can find suggests one is the payment processor for the other. The referral code MAXBONUS covered here has nothing to do with MoonPay.

And Pay with Moon is a third thing

Pay with Moon sells virtual Visa cards and gift cards bought with cryptocurrency, including Bitcoin, Lightning, USDT, USDC and ETH. Not Moon.com. Not MoonPay.

Three unrelated products sharing a four-letter word. That is the whole problem.

Why the confusion matters

  • Risk profile. One of these is a gambling product with leverage up to 1000x. The other two are payment services. Reading a review of one as information about another is how people end up somewhere they didn't intend to be.
  • Eligibility. Moon.com's terms name a long prohibited-jurisdiction list. A payments company's coverage map is a separate question and a separate answer.
  • Support. Contacting the wrong company about a missing balance wastes days you don't have.
  • Codes and promotions. A referral code for one is meaningless at the others. There is no crossover.

If Moon.com is what you meant: how it works, what it costs, andwhere it is not available.
